• After listening carefully and hearing about your objectives, I create "Style Tiles". Style tiles are a design deliverable consisting of fonts, colors and interface elements that communicate the essence of a visual brand. They help form a common visual language between the designers and the stakeholders and provide a catalyst for discussions around your preferences and your goals… Here's a Style Tile example

• From the feedback on the syle tiles, I design wireframes — wireframes show screen layout ideas. These sketches also include: some color palette and image treatments, interaction design suggestions, design ideas from sites or apps you enjoyed. Key screens are explored.

• After we decide on a direction for screen layout, (including a navigation system) I work on color mock ups and present font and type treatments, image and possible video integration, color suggestions and present ideas for interactions. We provide design options for key pages and a few examples of key features.

• Once I have color mockup options, you can elect to do user-testing - informally or formally, whichever the budget allows for. We also present prototypes of key functions so you can "play". Check-in on budget and schedule.

• Based on the results of user-testing and/or direction from teams, I create a final round of refined mockups of key pages and important functions.
Please note: I ensure that the design solutions are agile, regardless of the device but also regardless of how the site itself evolves as its content grows and changes.

• Once the final mocks and prototypes are approved, I prepare all the files for hand-off to developers. Photoshop files are meticulously organized and clearly labeled. We also provide supporting documentation for reference. The files are always available on a password-protected client extranet. We recommend having a meeting with the development team to review the files during hand-off.

• It's a simple road map that keeps everybody involved. The process allows for input from teams at key milesones, so that progress is reviewed and feedback is provided timely for maximum efficiency. I check-in on progress at defined content builds, so I can adjust things at early stages to avoid costly, site-wide changes.

After I hand-off the web design files and guidelines, I ensure that any development teams have all the tools needed for site creation, and that design-related questions are promptly answered.
